MARINO CURNIS - POETRY

Home

Poetry, my second Love, which never betrays me, giving me moments of peace, istants of happines, relief. The highest inspiration derived from women's world, from its, to me ethereal incomprehensibility. Among the lower inspirations, without a shadow of doubt, holds the top position Nature and her beauties.

From when I start to write (I was 12 years old), I produced almost 400 blank verse poems, waiting they for be published. In this page you could read some examples.

IL MIO VIAGGIO VOLGE AL TERMINE

(DRAWS MY TRAVEL TO A CLOSE)

I saw rise and arise

by the Nature's magic,

innumerable ancient Gods

and modern Divinities.

Poseidon from Ocean Sea,

Shiva on Himal high,

Jesus Christ inside a cave,

Buddha under "Bo" tree,

among lotus flowers.

I browse on nexus,

meaning laps against me.

Myself,

wandering about thoughts,

alone upon the "playa",

invented God

and thanked him.

That's how,

burning for Love,

with fervour I hugged

this magical world.

Draws my travel…

INNAMORARSI

(FALLING IN LOVE)

This light pain

that tricky fills my heart

laughs

at any other delight.

(Author and Translator from Italian: Marino Curnis. © ®. Poem n° 174. 03/11/1997. III * 76)

RICORDANDO LA MAGIA DEL NATALE

(RECALLING CHRISTMAS SPELL)

Got lost

Magic

and Fairy Tales,

on this world's path.

Nature calls for Fancy,

so that with Dream and Love,

could fire the starts

… and be the light,

on the way back.

That's my wish to you,

for this

and a thousand years more.

Lots of Love.

A SILVIA

(TO SILVIA)

On the Silence

of Dreams Day,

o Moon:

hand her

the romanticest

kiss of mine;

give her

my swetest caress;

and reveal me

her silence,

her dreams…

…Quiet…

VIAGGIARE

(TRAVELLING)

Set off,

set off without return,

looking for that we'll never find out

and finding that we never thought to find.

(Author and Translator from Italian: Marino Curnis. © ®. Poem n° 329. Vedeseta (BG-Italy). 03/12/2004. VII * 190)

RIFUGIO

(REFUGE)

Out of my mind,

gone into raptures

'cause Bacchus divine,

soon,

I thought futile

any my misfortune

and laughter,

amusement

and bliss,

grasped every corner

of my essence.

Were alived with me

countless

lost souls.

NON IL CORPO CHE INDOSSI

(NOT THE BODY YOU DRESS)

Not the body you dress

attract me to You,

nor scent of Your speech.

But the smile of Your breath

beats fast on my dreams.

(Author and Translator from Italian: Marino Curnis.© ®. Poem n° 314. Alzano Lombardo, Bergamo-Itay. 08/02/2003. VII * 41)

ARTE

(ART)

Dart

Illusions and Dreams

inside my thought,

fiery snow

on hills.

Energy

that Love doesn't eat,

eats up being

and flows into Art!

ODE ALLA PAZZIA

(MADNESS ODE)

Inside me

madness lies

my delight

and cantos.

Be ode

if only be

laughs and smiles

inside me, she.

My delight

and cantos

you are my light

and purpose

madness-"jee"!

CANARINO IN GABBIA

(CAGED CANARY)

In the midst of the crowd

alone

dull noise

canary in cage.

NEL LIMPIDO CIELO

(IN THE CLEAR SKY)

In the clear sky

take your heart off:

beyond the black pie*

flowers see off.

 (* pie in the sky)

LA TUA MUSICA M’AVVOLGE

(YOUR MUSIC WRAPS ME UP)

Teach me, my love,

step after step,

rhythm of the dance,

tasting of honey.

Would glide

our bodies

in time of delight.

I follow in your footsteps

resolving my worries,

your hands

gather mine,

emotional beat-mania.

Only then,

unfrozen inhibitions,

my eyes fall in your eyes.

Your Music wraps me up.

POI QUALCUNO

(THEN SOMEONE)

Then someone

all at once

wide opens the door

and falls in the sun.

(Author and Translator from Italian: Marino Curnis. © ®. Poem n° 141. Alzano L.do, BG-Italy. 05/11/1993. III * 26)

ROM

(GIPSY)

(to myself)

I opened a window

on the dark

of my conscience

seeing the light.

One home,

one tent,

world

is place to me.

Wanderer of no fixed abode

and creature of habit,

that's what I am.

Then let me roam

along this small place

and I'll be great

and immens

I'll lead my life.

(Author and Translator from Italian: Marino Curnis. © ®. Poem n° 268. 16/06/2000. V * 45)

VORREI BERE

(I WISH I DRINK)

I wish I drink

your tears

and come in

hugging you

in hearth.

(Author and Translator from Italian: Marino Curnis. © ®. Poem n° 194. 29/07/1998. IV * 12)

CATULLO

(CATULLUS)

I halt

inside instants

pausing

inside time.

Among olive trees,

stires the echo

of times gone by.

Illustrious men's

albinos togas,

black slaves

torsos.

Time goes on,

but we were

and that we'll be,

and careless,

we'll live our ruins.

(Author and Translator from Italian: Marino Curnis. © ®. Poem n° 273. Sirmione, BS-Italy. 02/07/2000. V * 49)

OMBRE SULLA NEVE

(SHADOWS OVER THE SNOW)

I stretched the brain

by the tracks

marked by my steps.

Silent the snow

and mild the sun.

Even the shadows

rest in whiteness

Even then,

shadows,

rest in whitness.
